Narayanan Namboothiri was
born on May 27, 1969 in Chandramana illam, Asamannoor. His father is C.G.
Govindan Namboodiri and mother is Sarasvathi Antharjanam. His education
level is MSc and Ph.D. in Applied Botany from Mangalore University.
He learned Kathakali under Chandramana Govindan Namboothiri and Kalamandalam
Ramakrishnan, with his college education itself. He is now working in CPCRI,
Kasargode.
Has expertised in "Pacha" characters namely Krishnan, Arjunan, Bhiman etc.
Has received many awards for Kathakali performances.
Narayanan Namboothiri is a 'B' grade Kathakali artist at DDK, Trivandrum. He is a very versatile artist and performs Monoact, Drama, Mime, Skits, Mimic Act etc and has won lot of prizes in university youth festivals and other competitions. He regularly perform Kathakali in temples and Kathakali Clubs.
In September 2005, The National Council of Culture,
Govt. of Venezuela invited Mr.Chandramana Narayanan to
participate in the First Worldwide Encounter of Body
Arts held at Caracas, Venezuela in South America as an
invited foregin artist from India.He attended the
programme and took classes on body language/art in
Kathakali.
In September 2006, he was again
invited by the Ministry of Culture (IMAGE), Govt. of
Venezuela for Kathakali performance and along with
other seven artists from Kerala performed 4
kathakali shows at Caracas in Venezuela.
