Kalanilayam Ramakrishnan was
born on May 10, 1967. His father is C.Raman Nambiar and mother is M.Devaki Amma.
After passing 7th, he learned Kathakali Music from Kalamandalam (1979) for 4 years and from Kalanilayam (1983) for 6 years under Kalamandalam Neelakandhan Nambeesan, Kalamandalam Subrahmanian, Madambi Subrahmanian Namboodiri, Pallam Madhavan, Kalanilayam Unnikrishnan, Kalamandalam Ravindran, Kalamandalam Rajendran and Kalamandalam Narayanan Embranthiri. Has learned Carnatic Music under Thichur Chandran and Chembai Kodandaraman. Has worked in Kalanilayam as temporary teacher from 1989 for 2 years and in Gandhi Seva Sadanam from 1991 for 6 years. Now working as B.High grade Artist in Radio Station, Thrissur.
Has performed in many stages all around Kerala and India and in foreign countries namely France, Switzerland, Thaiwan and Japan.
