Besides taking in the village life, while at KNC, it is also possible to visit Kozhikkode town (about 70 Kms from KNC). Kozhikkode has several museums, art galleries and also is the site of the Uru boat builders and the Tasara weaving center. Close to Kozhikkode is the turtle conservation center, for the protection of the highly endangered Olive Ridley's turtle. The center also allows interested and concerned individuals to participate in turtle watch activities.
